Match Report
The formation we were playing was a 3-2-2 with Charlie in goal, Harry, Yousuf and Saqib in defence, Owen and Sam in midfield, Josh and Chris as strikers and Alex and Daniel as super substitutes. Elangani won the toss and chose to kick-off and number 7 played a one two with a team mate, ran down the wing and scored in the first 20 seconds.
After the first goal we kept possession and nearly scored but unfortunately, number 7 scored 2 more goals. We were supportive and played really good football. They scored a few more goals making it 4-0 and then it was half-time.
Mrs Eales said to us that we were doing well but we should try not to switch off and to keep encouraging and supporting each other, which we did. She sub’ed off Harry for Daniel and put Alex on instead of Chris. In the 2nd half Sam scored a superb goal, making it 4-1; unfortunately the other team scored 2 more.
Next, Owen went on a run passed to Josh who passed it back and scored. There were 10 minutes left and we all got our hopes up. We were making lovely passes, but number 7 intercepted and scored, again. We needed to get a goal back so Owen went on another run and from just outside the box scored a beautiful long shot. The whistle went leaving the score 7-3.
I think we tried our hardest and fair play to Elangani, they were brilliant.

Thank you to all the parents who attended our Sex and Relationships Education Information evening last night; the response was very positive. In the Key Information - Policies area you will find a copy of the school policy for those who were unable to attend. There will be an opportunity in the Summer term for parents of children in Y5 and Y6 to view the programmes about how Babies are born and made prior to these being shown to the children. This will be repeated annually to give future Y5 parents the opportunity to view the material.
British Science Week is upon us at Prestwood Junior School and everyone is raring to go.
Head over to the Homework page, under the Children tab on our website to find out more about the event and for some fun activities to do at home.
Everyone arrived and got into position, we were raring to go, despite us looking small against the opposition. Although some of our players were slightly nervous as it was their footballing debut, they quickly got involved. Great Missenden kicked off as they had won the toss. They out skilled all our players, leaving the goalie to face 3 Great Missenden players. Unfortunately the ball hit the top of the goal and pass the goalie, who wasn’t tall enough to save it. Amelie was leading the attack, and defence, supported by the other players. At half-time they were up by a few, we hadn’t scored any, but our goalie had made some amazing saves. The second half started slightly more promising, and 2 of our players, Ellie and Eva, made some strong runs, but their defence was too strong. They attacked well and our goalie sometimes even had to dive! Kianah, Ruby, Lucy, Hannah and George were doing a spectacular job in defence but sometimes forgot to run back to do what they were meant to do. Everyone tried as hard as they could do so when we got to the second half they were all tired out. We were beaten convincingly. It was an extraordinary performance by us. The other team chose Heather, the goalie, as the man of the match for her those stunning saves. If I could have chosen I would have picked everyone as they played their part extremely well. Everyone was super and tried so hard.

Even though we didn't have a large crowd to cheer up on, we did our best. Mr Woodle (our coach) was very supportive even when we were feeling down. Unfortunately, we didn't win but our goal was the best. Samuel had a free kick from the half way line, the goalkeeper was standing behind the goal line and surprisingly it dipped over the goalkeeper and into the net. Samuel's goal was a perfect goal. The final score was 4-1. The team were Taylor (the skipper), Ibraheem, Yousuf, Lee, Saqib, Harry, Sam, Alex, Christopher & Charlie.
We would like to thank all the parents that came to cheer us on and Mr Woodle who coached us.

Just a reminder that we have a sickness bug going round at the moment. If your child develops this they need to be off school for 48 hours to prevent this spreading any further as we have now had several cases.
Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
