Everyone arrived and got into position, we were raring to go, despite us looking small against the opposition. Although some of our players were slightly nervous as it was their footballing debut, they quickly got involved. Great Missenden kicked off as they had won the toss. They out skilled all our players, leaving the goalie to face 3 Great Missenden players. Unfortunately the ball hit the top of the goal and pass the goalie, who wasn’t tall enough to save it. Amelie was leading the attack, and defence, supported by the other players. At half-time they were up by a few, we hadn’t scored any, but our goalie had made some amazing saves. The second half started slightly more promising, and 2 of our players, Ellie and Eva, made some strong runs, but their defence was too strong. They attacked well and our goalie sometimes even had to dive! Kianah, Ruby, Lucy, Hannah and George were doing a spectacular job in defence but sometimes forgot to run back to do what they were meant to do. Everyone tried as hard as they could do so when we got to the second half they were all tired out. We were beaten convincingly. It was an extraordinary performance by us. The other team chose Heather, the goalie, as the man of the match for her those stunning saves. If I could have chosen I would have picked everyone as they played their part extremely well. Everyone was super and tried so hard.
