Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
The School trip to see Cinderella yesterday was fantastic. All the children enjoyed themselves and danced and sung their way through the performance (lots of One Direction Songs). It was great to see all the happy faces and every single child shouting back to the stage 'oh yes he did' and taking part without exception.
There was a rendition of the twelve days of Christmas by the Ugly Sisters, which involved 5 toilet roles instead of gold rings, and I apologize in advance for future renditions, as we had on the coach with Year 5 all the way home.
It was really lovely to see the whole school out together and yet again we had some lovely comments from the venue about the wonderful behaviour and manners of the children.
A selection of children attended a DT afternoon at Prestwood Lodge yesterday. This is the first time we have done this in conjunction with Prestwood Lodge, and was designed to give children a chance to use some of their amazing facilities.
Laser-cut Christmas Decorations and 3-D printer Christmas gifts were created.
We intend to repeat the event, and organise more joint activities in the future, for different groups of children. We would like to thank the staff at Prestwood Lodge for their time and letting us use their facilities. It was an amazing afternoon and lots of inspired and excited children cam back!
One of our 'Most Able' activities in Year 5 and 6 is the Maths in Motion club. This leads to the design of a sports car and a race simulation which, this year, took part on Le Mans track. Over 100 schools enter from around the world. This Year we have come 8th. A major achievement beating some secondary and many well known independent schools. The overall winner was only 5 seconds faster which shows how close we were.
The next phase is that 4 pupils will attend the BETT show, in London, in February, to show off their skills. The programme is run by Jaguar Cars. There will be 16 schools involved at the BETT show and the race will be screened live on You Tube on the Friday after everyone has completed their simulation tasks.
Just as an extra, the teachers came 1st overall in the Teacher's Race!!
Thanks to all who supported the Christmas Bazaar on Saturday. There was a great atmosphere and we have raised a good amount. We have also had thanks to the Choir for their participation in the Prestwood light switch on. We have this morning also been to Cherry Orchard to sing to the elderly residents.
Next week the entire school will attend the Pantomime at the Elgiva and there will be Christmas assemblies for each group. Please contact the office for any further information.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
