Jake Simey, in Year 4, represented the School at a very special event over the Easter holidays. The Royal Geographical Society held and event to celebrate the life of Henry Worsley, the Antarctic explorer who sadly died whilst trying to retrace Ernest Shackleton's epic journey last year. At the time the school had a topic week about Shackleton and, if you remember, all of our display in reception were about this.
We started to follow Henry Worsley as Jake had found out this was happening at the same time. Children at the school followed him live and e-mailed questions through.
Following this the school were invited to send a representative to the celebration event. Jake attended on our behalf and had to speak in front of 600 people about what we did. Our display work was also displayed at the event for all to see again.
We were all very proud to be able to display our work again and for Jake to represent the school at such a prestigious event. Well done.
