On Tuesday afternoon I took a team of 4 to the Davenies School Maths Competition in Beaconsfield. As far as I know, it’s the first time we have entered this, so it was very exciting to compare our school to the 21 other (mainly independent) schools at the event. Oscar, Hafsa, Jenson and Yotam, all from Year 5, performed excellently. They were in pairs and had a carousel of 7 activities to complete. There was then a quick fire problem round. One pair were 11th and one pair were 13th at the end of the day. Amazing results for our first go!! Well done to our Year 5 mathematicians. They were a credit to the school.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
