This week we have been continuing with our traditional tales topic and have been looking at fables.
We talked about Aesop, who was very famous for writing fables and discussed what exactly it is that makes a story a fable.
We have read such stories as, The Tortoise and the Hare, The Fox and the Crow, The Greedy Fox, The Fox and the Stalk, The Lion and the Mouse, The Dog and his Reflection.
The children thoroughly enjoyed reading these and we talked in great detail about the morals behind them. Following on from this the children wrote descriptions for some of the characters they have met, through these fables, during the week.
