We started off our Spring term learning with a whole school focus on India, this culminated in a fantastic sharing assembly on Friday 13th January. A highlight of the week, for all the children and staff, was definitely the very tasty treats provided by three very kind mums.
In year six we combined our English and humanity lessons to learn how India gained independence from the British Empire. We wrote recounts from different points of view and a news report on the Salt March (look out for some examples of these in the entrance way at school). We combined our DT, PE and Music lessons to learn about kite fighting, we made kites which we used in our 'kite fight' dances. Year six have enjoyed this topic so much we will be continuing with it in our humanity lessons until half-term.
Below are a few photos of our week.
