This week we have had great fun in D&T working together to create a stable structure. However, it was not as easy as it sounds. The children were given sheets of newspaper and only one metre of masking tape. They had to try to create a stable structure which would not fall over when blown and could support the weight of a small book. The children came up with some incredible ideas and worked very hard on their communication skills during this task. For homework we are asking the children to have another go at this challenge. Can they make a stable structure at home, using newspaper and a minimal amount of tape, which will not fall over when blown and can support the weight of a small book? Structures or photographs can be brought in as evidence, photographs can alternatively be emailed to the school office. Happy building!
