The children will be drawing a map of a familiar journey which they take. They will be creating a key for any landmarks which they see on their journey. For example post boxes, play parks or funny road names.
At a later date we will develop this idea and create a line drawing of the journey, which we then paint, using the knowledge from our work on colours in the first half of the Autumn term.
We know that the three primary colours are
yellow, red and blue
From this we have been able to make secondary colours. Why not have a go at testing our knowledge?
Red + Yellow =
Yellow + Blue =
Blue + Red =
After making a colour wheel to show the primary and secondary colours we had a go at making different shades of colour. We picked two primary colours and started with the lightest one. We then added a tiny bit of the darker colour, mixed them together and painted another line. We then added ANOTHER bit of the darker colour, mixed them together and painted another line. We did this again and again until we had managed to move from one primary colour through to another.
