WEEK BEGINNING - 6th March 2017
This week the children will be carrying out a class survey.
This activity enables children to recognise that although we have certain features in common with other people, it is the particular combination of characteristics that makes us unique and special.
We will first look at the essential characteristics of girls and boys and then move the discussion on to thinking about whether this means that all girls are the same and all boys are the same. Following on from this, we will identify the ways in which they are all unique, focusing initially on physical characteristics. All differences will be valued positively, thinking about characteristics including, height, hair colour, skin colour and disabilities.
The children will then complete a class survey sheet of characteristics.
