This week's activity encouraged the children to categorise every day objects into two groups: living and non-living.
The children gave examples of things that are living and we grouped them into animal and vegetable. We discussed the concept of a living thing and the children thought of more characteristics, such as growth, the need for food, respiration and reproduction. The children were asked to give examples of non-living things and were asked how they knew they were non-living. We then discussed the concept of once was alive.
