15th March 2019 - STEM week so no individual achievement awards BUT lots of achievements. After learning about the science of flight, we investigated: paper plane designs; different paper sizes and strengths; angles of launch; and power of throw - it was Munir (6Newton) and Harry E (6Anning) who went forward to Friday's Flying Finale (assembly). Both planes were amazing, Munir however pipped Harry to the Year 6 win and then was himself narrowly beaten by the Year 5 winner.
Special mention must also go to all the Year 6 children involved in Wednesday's Science Fayre - all year groups were treated to a variety of experiments which were ably demonstrated and explained by the Year 6 pupils. Special mention to those children who took the time to investigate the science of their experiments at home so they could be even more impressive :-)
8th November 2018 - RAF Halton visit
A huge well done to everyone in Year 6 - the volunteers at the museum all commented on what an, 'excellent school' you were; they were impressed with your interest, your questions and your enthusiasm for the activities.
21st Sept Friday Celebration Assembly
A massive thank you, and well done, to all those Year 6s who returned to school on Tuesday 18th Sept to act as tour guides for prospective parents. Everyone was very impressed with how you represented the school, you were all polite, informative and articulate - good job all of you. A special mention goes out to: Grace, Oliver M and Bilal for being extra impressive:-)
A huge round of applause to everyone who stood for house captain on Wednesday, we had a record number of Year 6s standing for house captain this year and the quality of all the speeches was impressive - you should all be very proud of yourselves.
14th Sept Friday Celebration Assembly
A big well done to all those children who took the Transfer Test - we were impressed with your mature approach and are proud of you all for trying your best.
House afternoons - another big well done to everyone in Year 6, it was great to see your confidence grow as the afternoon progressed and to hear from other members of staff about what a great job you did at leading the afternoons activities. We hope you're all working hard on your speeches for the House Captain votes on Wednesday 19th Sept.
